SPECIAL DAYS

We congratulate all the young people from Ballyduff N.S who recently received the Sacrament of Confirmation in St. Nicholas’s Church. Bishop Cullinan was present to bestow the gift of the Holy Spirit on them and we hope they all enjoyed their special day.
It was then the turn of the boys and girls of 2nd class in Ballyduff N.S to receive their First Holy Communion. They all looked beautiful as the sun shone down on them all. Following a beautiful ceremony celebrated by Fr. Francis the children and their families gathered in the school hall for a cuppa and some refreshments. It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to meet and for the children to show off their artwork. We hope the boys and girls enjoyed a special time with their families.

BLITZ SUCCESS

Ballyduff AFC recently held a very successful academy blitz evening. There was a huge turnout and even the good weather showed up for the occasion. The club were delighted to welcome players, coaches and parents from Seaview Celtic FC Waterford and Kilmacthomas AFC and thank them for helping to make it such a fun event.
There were over 80 future football stars displaying their skills and the hard work being put in by coaches and players was very evident. It was wonderful to watch the level of skill and talent on display from the three clubs, but it was also heartwarming to see the joy in their faces and watch all the friendships being formed.
A big well done to all the Ballyduff AFC coaches and helpers who worked hard to organise this very successful event.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Eileen O Leary, Blacknock on the recent death of her brother. Jack O Sullivan was a native of Butlerstown but has resided in New Hyde Park, New York for many years. Eileen had travelled recently to visit Jack and enjoyed spending time with him.
