NOVEMBER NOVENA.

The month of November is dedicated to all our loved ones who have gone to their heavenly reward. We offer extra prayers for them throughout the month. In Ballyduff special Novena masses began on November 18th and will end on the 27th with a special candle mass for all those who have died during the past year. The names of those who died in our parish are immediately added to the list but if you would like the name of a loved one or friend outside the parish added please drop their name into the sacristy.

RECENT DEATH

We send our deepest sympathies to the Walker family, Lacka Road on the recent death of Kieran Walker. Kieran was a former worker at Waterford Crystal and founder of Johnnie Walkers Traditional Fish and Chips. Kieran is survived by his wife Maria, his children Leanne, Gillian, James, Karen and Lorraine, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren and extended family. Kieran’s funeral mass took place in St. John’s Church followed by a private cremation. We pray that Kieran now rests in peace and that his loving family will find some comfort in their wonderful memories.

KEEP WATCH

As the cold weather hits and the dark evenings are well and truly in place we are reminded to keep an eye on our elderly neighbours and those living alone. It is important to check that they have enough heat and supplies but most importantly just to call or phone and say hello. Often a little bit of company is all they need and a friendly chat can lift someone’s spirit and is something we can all do.
