Community Garden

An information meeting about the possibility of creating a community garden in Kilmeaden was held on February 21st. It was a very enthusiastic and positive meeting where people were informed that a piece of land between the entrance to the Greenway at the top of Matthews Cross and Waterford Suir Valley Railway was available and the council were willing to sign in over to a group as a possible site for a community garden. The meeting was told about the possibilities of such a garden, it could include raised beds, a pond area, wild flower area, some seating, fruit trees, vegetables and so much more.
The garden would be for all ages to share and come together as a community. A place that would be wonderful for a healthy body and healthy mind. A committee needed to be elected to apply for grants etc. Peter Jacob was elected as Chairman, Linda Spillane as Secretary and Declan Finn as Treasurer. Watch out for more information on this exciting project.
